Kyushu-Korea Golden FUN!

Just came back from my Golden Week vacation with Nina. I took the bullet train to Kyushu, then off on a Ferry to Busan then a Korean bullet train to Seoul. Let's start off with Kyushu. For those who do not know where it is...look it up =). The first day, we wandered aroung Canal City and watched a talent show. There were two super cute little boys around 6 yrs old doing this awesome dance which i managed to record! I put up on youtube just for you guys.

Then we took a ferry to a nearby island. When we got there, every thing was closed. we ended up wandering around the island and collecting seashells and smooth glass on the beach. At night, we at at a Ramen stand. Hakata is well known for it's ramen so we couldn't leave without trying some. The ramen people were pretty thrilled to have us since we are their first American customers.
The ramen was tasty...but I think can only have it once in a blue moon because my body cries at the unhealthiness. In Kyushu, we also saw talking hello kitty and robot fighting. We also went to an awesome cafe that was filled with children books.

Then off to Seoul. The place we stayed at had heated floors! We were also located down the street from a Palace. At night, we had an awesome dinner which consisted of over 18 dishes and traditional korean perfomances. One of which included a knife dance.

i'm tired....to be continued...

It's been awhile

I am currently bored out of my mind at home...i suppose i could go outside...maybe later. It is currently too cold for my taste. I like walking around in the basking heat. Then i can wear cute summer clothes!!!
So Friday I went to an enkai (drinking party) with all the part-time teachers at one of my junior high schools. definitely the best enkai. I think because every one was in their early twenties and single so the atmosphere was more....fun? Who am i kidding, it's the best enkai because it had the most cute young boys...actually, i think it is the only one that had cute young guys. Too bad I won't see half of them ever again =(. I still don't know where i will be teaching next semester. hopefully the same schools.
I have story! When I was at the school in the previous post, I tried to talk the kids that were graduating more since i would never see them again. I was talking too a group of guys that were sitting around doing nothing...and the convo went something like this:
Me: Hello!
PB1 (perverted boy): I am *Habu. (points to PB2) He is *Mamushi. (point to the two other guys who i find out aren't perverted) Anaconda and Anaconda. VERY BIG!(*These are names of Japanese snakes)
Me: Oh. Hello.
PB2: Do you play sex?
Me: I'm not going to answer that.
PB1: How about "fera"?
Me: (plays stupid) I don't understand.
PB2: Umm, eat "chinchin"!
PB1: (makes gestures)
Me: (stifling laughter) no.
PB2: it tastes good. (points to PB1) He likes you.
Me: oh really? do you like me?
PB1: Yes! Sex play together?
Me: No.
PB2: (gesturing to all the guys) We sex play together...everyday.
Me: umm...(tries to change the subject) so what high schools are you going to?

So the whole conversation was not perverted nonsense but they would occasionally stray back to it.

PB1: Sensei, nice body. What are your three sizes?
Me: I don't know.
PB1: Lies.
PB2: (starts going off in japanese about perverted stuff...but i don't understand until he says...) ゴムをつける。(put on a condom)
Me: (slowly walks away)
PB2: Oh! she understood! (blood starts dripping from his nose)
Me: Ahh...are you okay?
PB2: Yeah. I just got a little excited
Me + other guys: (dying from laughter)

But seriously I thought the nosebleed thing was only in anime. But i have witnessed it in person! too bad i didn't have my camera that day. I asked some japanese people about it but they also had never witnessed it. But my friend that i teach with went to an all boys school and he said he would see it from time to time. Isn't it weird how it doesn't happen to other races...or does it? After I told my friend (he's a japanese part-time teacher at my other jhs) he wanted me to hug boys at school in hopes that he could witness their nose bleed. XD

junior high school

For the past two weeks I've been teaching at junior high school, which i have been enjoying very much. Lots of nice relax time. All teachers have their favorite students, and mine is a cute 8th grader at my base school. He's the only student that isn't afraid to ask me for help, so it's nice. Plus he seems really eager to learn English, and that is the key to my heart. Last time I taught his class, one of the girls yelled out to him "Shivana先生めっちゃ惚れてる!" ("Your really in love with Shivana!") And the whole class made the whole "oooh" noise. He didn't deny it either, but now he will probably talk to me less. puuuuuuu
Speaking of that class there is a really weird boy, the one who I heard whisper that I was sexy, is also in that class. During English class he sleeps the whole period, but between classes sometimes I'll turn around, and he is suddenly there. Just standing behind me. I think he's sniffing my hair x_x.
Friday was my last day teaching my favorite students the 9th graders, at my other junior high school. I am sad because i will probably never see them again. I love both the boys and the girls. The girls are especially really sweet. Since it was my last time with them, I made them take lots of pictures with me.

Here is a pic of me looking tall.

The reality of the situation.
me and my break dancing boys. They all do break dancing so i made them break for me since it was their last day. They are pretty hardcore about it too. They are even attending a high school that is well known for it's break dancing club. Despite this, it still took them about half an hour worth of rock, paper, scissors and coin flipping to work up the courage to dance in front of me. In the end, he didn't dance dance for me even though he was supposedly the best at dancing. So this was his punishment.

back in the land of the rising sun

I went home for winter break and it was great. There really is nothing like spending the holidays at home. I wish there had been more of a build up before Christmas though. It seemed like it came and went way too quick. I sure miss the long breaks i had during my college years, but I must say, it feels really nice to have money for once in my life. Unfortunately, a lot of it will end paying off my debt. It's nice to be able to eat out whenever i want at fancy resturaunts. That's pretty much all I spend my money on anyway. I don't spend much on shopping or groceries, so after I pay my bills, I have quite a bit of money to play with. i suppose I should start investing.

Well back to the holidays. Everyday was like a get together. This year was different from most because my mom and dad's sides were both present. All together, I think there were around 40 of us. I'm pretty sure my family is still eating food from then. Talking about this is sure making me hungry.

I'm sitting at work now bored out of my mind. So many sites are blocked on these computers...lame. I don't think teachers should have work when they don't have classes. what a waste of time. T_T

Back to the holidays. I received lots of presents. Thanks guys! hope you liked your presents too. I didn't sleep much over the break. everynight i went to bed around 6am...busy chatting...or watching HEROES! Oooh and i played my brother's wii. So much fun...especially boxing. New Years I spent with Omar in a club in NYC. a pretty ghetto club. They didn't have a countdown =(. but I still had fun. and a fight broke out and there was lots bottle smashing...exiting stuff! Luckily i was far away since broken bottles and open-toed shoes don't make for a very good mix. never wearing open-toed shoes on new years again! everyone is bigger than me and they were all stepping on my feet! =(

They say it takes 14 hours from newark to japan...but that's just airtime. from when i left my house till i arrived at my apartment took about 24 hours ._. Good thing I slept every chance I got. I brought a book that I got for Christmas, "Tuesdays with Morrie", which i finished...good book, listened to tunes on my ipod, and played Castlevania on my gameboy.

Tonight i will be having all you can eat sukiyaki...yum. For those of you who don't know, it's cooked meat and veggies dipped in raw egg. Sounds disgusting, but tastes delicious. Don't knock it till you try it. i will be meeting up with the YHM crew which means I will see HARRY!!! I haven't seen him since our arrival in Tokyo. From spending every class together to not seeing each other is weird. especially when we are in the same country. Stupid Harri, why did you ask for SENDAI?!?! for those of you who don't know he is 4 hours away, by bullet train...so perhaps $250 away...and that's one way.

It's 1 o'clock...maybe they will let me leave early...there is NO ONE here. *sigh*
